Like the rest of the country, today we celebrated the Coronation of King Charles III.
We live streamed the whole occasion in the kiln hovel, video space and Glaze Room and were delighted to be able to join members of the community to watch the procession, crowning and parade. Visitors also had breakfast, special lunches and afternoon teas from Sweet Caroline’s and children took part in our clay medal and crafty Guardsman activities.
Excitingly, we also opened our new exhibition of Coronation Memorabilia featuring commemorative pieces from our collection (from 1887 to the current day), trinkets and photographs from Magic Attic, amongst others. Open until 31 July, this exhibition is all about what and how we remember – come along and leave your memories of this coronation, and others, in our visitors book.
