May 2019 to May 2020
Sharpe’s is the chosen platform to stage this new installation of William Ault ware.
For the first time since its inauguration, Sharpe’s Pottery Museum is hosting a special exhibition of wares produced by William Ault who was the major ‘Art Pottery’ manufacturer of Swadlincote. The items were all produced at the Ault Faience Works in Midland Road between the years of 1887 and 1922 and includes pieces from the famous Victorian, design pioneer, Christopher Dresser. Christopher Dresser was contracted to design exclusively for William Ault between the years of 1893 and 1896. Several of these exquisite, sought-after pieces are included in the current exhibition.
The exhibition will run for 12 months from 7th May 2019 and comprises treasured pieces loaned by enthusiastic collectors.
Viewing times are restricted. Please contact Sharpe’s before you visit.
