Sharpe’s Pottery Museum and Swadlincote Tourist Information Centre are run by Sharpe’s Pottery Heritage and Arts Trust, which is a charitable organisation (Registered Charity No: 1077086). The museum opened in 2003. The Trust works closely with other partner organisations within the site including The Magic Attic and People Express.
The Magic Attic was setup in 1987 by local historians who were interested in preserving information about the area. The Attic is a local history archive and is a registered charity based upstairs within the museum. For further information about the archives, visiting and opening times, please visit www.magicattic.org.uk or phone 01283 819020.
People Express is a well-established arts organisation and registered charity, which will be celebrating its 25th year in 2015 and is based in The Old Pressing Shop. People Express builds relationships for deeper level socially engaged work between artists and participants, excluded communities and groups with shared interests, resulting in well-made, ambitious and original projects producing artwork that moves, inspires and resonates with audiences.
