Heritage Open Days – Object Handling

Celebrating 200 years of the Sharpe’s family and the creation of the pottery. (Sharpe’s 200th Birthday Celebration). Hold history in your hands with objects from the Pottery Museum’s collection. You will find out more about the collection through relaxed, informal conversations.
Volunteers facilitate the object handling, encourage discussion and answer visitors’ questions.
· Objects will link to stories of South Derbyshire’s industrial past
· Drop in on Saturday 11th 10am to 4.30pm, Thursday 16th September 6pm to 8pm and Sunday 19th 10am to 2pm
· Free to attend
· Recommended for adults and children aged 5+

Voices in the Kiln where visitors of Sharpe’s Pottery Museum can see Victorian children talking to young people from 2021 about their lives in the Pottery Industry and bring their stories to life once again through our new virtual app. Speak to the front of house team to obtain a tablet or download the app on your phone to bring the stories alive!
Walk Through Our Museum where people with a passion for industrial heritage can now enjoy the various displays and exhibitions from Sharpe’s Pottery Museum from the comfort of their own homes.
