Celebrating 200 years of the Sharpe’s family and the creation of the pottery. (Sharpe’s 200th Birthday Celebration). During this 45-minute tour our experienced guides will give a fascinating insight into the history of South Derbyshire’s industrial past.

You’ll discover stories of Sharpe’s family history, and the significant changes from 19th century coal mining, clay extraction and associated industrial activity, through to a 21st century sustainable landscape led by the creation of The National Forest!

· Each tour lasts for 45 minutes and covers a number of exhibits

· Tours take place on Thursday 16th September 12pm to 6pm and Friday 10th and 17th September 10am to 2pm

· Each tour has a capacity of 12 people

· Free for HODs (bookable group tours £50)

· Recommended for adults and children aged 5+

· Please note that the tour will visit a number of galleries on different floors

Voices in the Kiln where visitors of Sharpe’s Pottery Museum can see Victorian children talking to young people from 2021 about their lives in the Pottery Industry and bring their stories to life once again through our new virtual app. Speak to the front of house team to obtain a tablet or download the app on your phone to bring the stories alive!

Walk Through Our Museum where people with a passion for industrial heritage can now enjoy the various displays and exhibitions from Sharpe’s Pottery Museum from the comfort of their own homes.
