Beginners Tapestry Workshop with Abigail Wastie

Join Abigail Wastie for this full day Beginners Tapestry Workshop! Learn the skills to make your own beautiful tapestry. Enjoy the pleasures of this ancient meditative craft in a small relaxed group environment.

During the workshop you will receive an introduction to tapestry tools, frames and the warping processes. Different tapestry weaving techniques will be demonstrated including rya knotting and free weaving.

You will be able to choose your own colours and textures from Abigail’s selection of high quality British woollen yarns to start your own tapestry design. Abigail will guide you through the process of translating your design onto the pre-warped frame.

£80 per person. All materials included. Refreshments  of tea/coffee and cake included.

(Lunch not included but can be pre-ordered from Sweet Caroline at Sharpe’s the museum cafe).
