Our new temporary display will shine a Spotlight on one of our favourite local potteries, Bretby Art Pottery.

Bretby Art Pottery was a renowned pottery company that operated in England during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Established in 1882 by Henry Tooth and William Ault, Bretby Art Pottery was known for its distinctive Art Nouveau and Arts and Crafts style, Bretby produced a wide range of ceramic pieces, including vases, jugs, and decorative items. The pottery was characterized by its intricate designs, often featuring nature-inspired motifs such as flowers, leaves, and animals.
