It’s competition time!
This year, along with the rest of the nation, we will be celebrating the coronation of His Majesty King Charles III. As well as a variety of activities, we’ll be hosting a special exhibition of coronation memorabilia from the last 120 years.
The first-known cup celebrating a coronation is from 1660. It celebrated the restoration of the Monarchy (Charles II) after the Civil War. Take part in this time-honoured tradition and design a mug for King Charles’ coronation on 6 May 2023 (entry pack with templates below). The winning design will be made into a mug for the winner to keep. A second version will be made and displayed in pride of place in our special exhibition.
Everyone is welcome to join in! Be inspired by other coronation mugs, King Charles’ monogram and Royal Standard or anything that you feel is relevant to him. We are looking forward to seeing what you can do!
