Role: Part-time Marketing and Programme Assistant
Organisation: Sharpe’s Pottery Heritage and Arts Trust Limited
Reports to: Business and Development Manager
Location: Virtual and occasionally Sharpe’s Pottery Museum, Swadlincote
Contract type: This is a 12-month temporary role, with a view to make it more permanent subject to successful performance by the person appointed, transformation and sustainable sources of funding to cover the post in future years.
Salary: £10 per hour.
Working hours: Part-time – 10 hours per week, flexible.

We are looking for a creative and dynamic individual to join our team and market Sharpe’s Pottery Museum as a place to learn, explore and enjoy!

Our iconic Grade II listed building not only houses stories and artifacts from South Derbyshire’s industrial past, the venue also hosts an interesting array of events for visitors to enjoy, including talks, workshops, crafts, arts and other seasonal fayres, community events, special occasion, performances, conferences and works with a wide range of partners and stakeholders committed to educating the community and our visitors about Sharpe’s family history and the significant changes from 19th century coal mining, clay extraction and associated industrial activity in South Derbyshire, to a 21st century sustainable landscape led by the creation of The National Forest!

We are recruiting for a number of vacancies at Sharpe’s Pottery Museum – including part-time Marketing and Programme Assistant – perfect if you’re looking to develop your creative skills at a visitor attraction.

This role would suit a highly motivated individual who has experience of devising and delivering marketing campaigns, website design and audience development together with an understanding of the challenges and opportunities of the tourism sector, and an empathy for our work as a heritage museum and arts charity. You will be part of an organisation that is committed to ensuring our visitors leave having had a great experience.

We are looking for people who have an eye for detail, excellent at communicating, has an enthusiasm for heritage, arts and culture, as well as a desire to assisting in achieving targets and enjoy being part of a busy team with constantly changing priorities.
