Here at Sharpe’s we are always looking for new volunteers to join our team. Volunteers have always been at the heart of Sharpe’s giving valuable time and raising essential funds to keep the museum running.
Our volunteer’s meet up several times a year to offer their input on upcoming events and to discuss fundraising activities. Newcomers are always welcome so if you think that you might be interested in volunteering with us, then either pop into the museum in person or contact us on 01283 222600 to see what it's all about.
Currently we are seeking volunteers to help in the following areas;
- Front of House and Reception
- Museum and Collections
- Events and Hospitality
- Children's Activities and School Visits
- Building Maintenance
We have flexible opportunities to suit busy people or those with a few more hours to spare, so if you have skills or an interest in any of the above areas then we would love to hear from you!
Trustee Roles (also voluntary):
We are also seeking to expand our existing Board of Trustees, by inviting new members to join. Over the coming months the Board intends to make appointments of new Trustees and so are welcoming applications.
In short, we are interested in broadening the basis of our capacity to maintain an active and supportive framework of governance for our charity and the work of the team. As a Trustee, you will be asked to attend a minimum of 6 half day Board meetings a year. In addition, there will also be supplementary meetings and on-going projects which will require a regular time commitment equivalent to approximately one-two days each month.
We would be particularly interested in hearing from applicants who have experience in Fundraising, Collections or Heritage Management, Communications and Volunteer Development. We would welcome you to discuss these roles informally so please do contact the Chair, Ron Lane by email firstname.lastname@example.org
To apply for consideration please send a letter of interest accompanied by your CV to email@example.com by 31st August 2017.
